Recovery Service Specialist Job

This position will primarily work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM AND will rotate some evening and weekend hours.

Plans, schedules and conducts psychoeducational classes on recovery as assigned (e. g., medication side effects, ADL, communication skills, stress management strategies).

Provides therapeutic support within the units and Recovery Center.

Teaches and models healthy behaviors, consistent with the treatment/care goals of recovery.

Contributes to safe and therapeutic environment by practicing verbal de-escalation and, as authorized, other behavior management techniques.

Completes and maintains service documentation according to mandated standards.

Communicates information relevant to care, treatment, and services, with other staff members. ?

Assist with patient care duties and other activities as necessary.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or GED.

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or one year of relevant experience.

Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.

Must have and maintain valid drivers license.

Central State Hospital is a State operated, 24-hour facility that provides inpatient psychiatric care for adults 18 and older that are experiencing acute behavioral health problems and require 24-hour clinical supervision, observation and assessment with the mission to facilitate recovery and return to community life. We have capacity for 70 patients and average about 50-55 patients per day. 4 units, 3 co-ed and 1 all male and serving 700-1000 individuals per year.
