Job Description:
Specialty Food Group is currently hiring for a Quality Technician in our Valparaiso food manufacturing plant. They would be responsible for auditing the products and processes at different points during production and packaging to ensure company standards are being met.
Some of the essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
• Conduct through and detailed quality audits of production lines to ensure products meet company established quality standards.
o If any deviation, tell the correct parties ASAP and document to insure correction.
• Using moderately complicated test methods sample and analyze products produced.
o Hold products that do not meet standards and dispose of appropriately.
o Report these deviations to the Quality Manager with details.
• Have a through understanding of operating equipment and how they are used in the day to day operations, making changes as needed.
• Audit paperwork of operators and other plant employees to ensure company standards are met.
• Work with Quality Manager and production associates to improve process, products, and operations.
• Work with various plant employees and departments to address issues.

Job Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Fluent in English (a second language is a plus.)
• 3 years of food manufacturing experience
• Good math skills
• Knowledge of GMP & Quality Systems
• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail a must.
• Strong computer skills: must be proficient in Windows Office Suite.
