SUMMARY:

The Quality Auditor position is assigned to the Hamlet, NC plant reporting to the Quality Manager for American Woodmark Corporation.  This position will work Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with occasional overtime on Fridays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors, inspects, and proposes measures to correct or improve the company's final products and processes in order to meet the established quality standards


• Ensures the product quality by evaluating the product based on applicable specifications and/or Customer requirements (conduct product and process audits and report the results).


• Identifies and documents nonconformances, conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective action(s) to prevent recurrence.


• Recommends, implements, and directs others to modify operational methods and practices to enhance department effectiveness.


• Provides support for the execution and maintenance of the Quality System processes in the respective departments.


• Reduces risk and loss (through regular audits, rework, and handling of nonconformances).


• Assists management with coordinating training to procedure revisions.


• Monitors the implementation of procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Strong critical reasoning, decision making and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).


• General working knowledge of Excel and Word.


• Strong attention to detail.


• Previous experience in a Quality role is a plus


• Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis is a plus


• Drawing interpretation is a plus


• Quality certifications are a plus
