Job Description:
Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for evaluating RETVE’s web application to identify technical defects, usability concerns and inconsistencies before wider user access.

The role will support the transition from functional development into controlled testing and market readiness. The tester will work closely with the Full-Stack Web Application Developer, UI/UX and Web Designer, Client Support Representative and management team to confirm that platform functions operate as intended and provide a reliable experience across supported devices and browsers.

The position may initially be established on a contract or project basis and expanded according to the scope of development, testing requirements and frequency of future software releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Review RETVE’s product requirements, application designs and planned user workflows.
- Prepare test plans, test cases and testing checklists for new and updated platform functions.
- Conduct functional testing of the website and web application.
- Test user registration, login, authentication and account-management functions.
- Evaluate user-profile creation and editing.
- Test employment search, filtering and application-tracking workflows.
- Review military-to-civilian skills-translation functions as they are developed.
- Test resume-building, editing, saving and export functions.
- Evaluate dashboard notifications, activity summaries and user preferences.
- Test housing, government-resource and social-support functions as they are introduced.
- Conduct testing across supported browsers, screen sizes and devices.
- Identify broken links, incomplete forms, navigation problems and inconsistent interface behaviour.
- Confirm that error messages are clear and displayed appropriately.
- Document technical defects with sufficient detail for developers to reproduce and correct them.
- Assign appropriate priority or severity levels to identified issues.
- Verify that reported defects have been resolved.
- Conduct regression testing following software changes.
- Support integration and end-to-end testing.
- Participate in accessibility-focused testing.
- Review basic performance, reliability and response-time concerns.
- Support security-related testing under the direction of qualified technical personnel.
- Maintain testing records, defect logs and release-readiness reports.
- Assist with user-acceptance testing involving selected prospective users.
- Review feedback collected by the Client Support Representative and identify recurring platform concerns.
- Provide recommendations regarding release readiness and required corrections.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience

- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, quality assurance or a related field.
- Experience testing websites, web applications or software products.
- Experience preparing test cases and documenting software defects.
- Familiarity with functional, integration, regression and user-acceptance testing.
- Experience working with developers and designers during software-development cycles.
