Big Sky Milling has an immediate opening for the position of an experienced Purchasing officer (TEER: 12102) for our location in Bowden, Alberta.

As a Purchasing officer (TEER: 12102), you will perform some or all of the following duties:
• Purchase agricultural commodities, freight and other goods and services;
• Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers;
• Assess lots of pulses and specialty crops for suitability for the facility’s operations;
• Understand customer quality and other needs and seek out appropriate supply;
• Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations;
• Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards;
• Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems;
• Plan, organize and oversee inbound operational logistics of the organization;
• Handle returns and rejections;
• Sell facility produced by-products;
• Verify supplier invoices for accuracy and approve for payment.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or economics is required;
• Previous experience as a purchasing clerk or as an administrative clerk may be required;

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: CA$ 45.68 /hour
