Purchasing Officer Job

• Assess requirements for materials, parts and equipment to be purchased, estimate budgets for purchases
• Purchase materials, parts, supplies and equipment essential for the day-to-day operations
• Research supply markets and conduct comparative analysis of potential vendors and suppliers
• Establish and maintain efficient relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Review and analyze quotations and negotiate financial and logistical details with suppliers
• Place and track orders, coordinate delivery schedules, monitor progress and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues
• Prepare monthly reports on purchasing targets, orders and costs
• Provide risk analysis regarding supply agreements
• Provide purchasing suggestions to improve the processes

• Completion of secondary school
• Post-secondary diploma would be an asset
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the manufacturing or automobile industry
• Strong planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Fluent English
