We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our management team. This position will assume the primary responsibility for leading the company’s overall procurement operation, whilst providing strategic leadership to the wider business. The ideal candidate for this role will have a comprehensive background in purchasing and vendor management. This position is expected to handle the purchasing policy development, monitor all purchasing activities from our current suppliers and ideally contact more potential material suppliers.
Job Duties:
1. Develop project plans for procurement and contracting initiatives, including establishing milestones, tracking progress, and working with suppliers and service providers to minimize costs & risks and maximize supply reliability & quality.
2. Lead the competitive bid process, develop performance and evaluation criteria, negotiate, and award contracts, and evaluate supplier’s and service provider’s performance.
3. Oversee supplier relations and pricing, create and maintain supplier product and price list.
4. Source products, equipment and materials; and provide recommendations on procurement timing and new suppliers and service providers candidates.
5. Review the final procurement list and prepare a summary with the estimated budget.
6. Negotiate with existing supply partners about purchasing contracts for better quality commodities at reasonable prices as well as favourable commercial terms and conditions.
7. Assist in the development of supply-chain-related strategies and solutions for the company for improved performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
8. Make regular inspections of the inventory and coordinate with colleagues to determine the purchasing list of low-stocked materials and types of equipment as well as specific items asked by the clients.
9. Support annual and monthly budgeting processes to optimize project capital expenditure and operational expenditure.
10. Assist in the recruitment of future purchasing staff and provide necessary training sessions and supervision.
Qualifications:
1. A college diploma is required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing and contract negotiation is highly preferred.
3. Service oriented with a commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-starter and energetic.
5. Good at communications and decision-making.
6. Able to manage multiple projects while working with a variety of business partners.
