Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to plan and supervise goods and services acquisition. This position is under
the direction of the Greene County Commission with daily supervision under the County Administrator.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing or related area; two years’ experience supervising
purchasing staff and procurement activities preferably in local government; or any combination of education
and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Greene County is a first class county and the fourth most populous county in Missouri with close to 300,000 residents living in both unincorporated areas and a number of cities including Ash Grove, Battlefield, Fair Grove, Republic, Rogersville, Springfield, Walnut Grove, and Willard. The County oversees, staffs and supports many functions which serve residents in both municipal and unincorporated areas including those related to the criminal justice system. The County operates the jail, court security, civil process and maintains warrants, records and permits. Duties of the County are carried out by 13 elected officeholders, 11 judges and six court commissioners. County departments provide numerous services related to planning and zoning, real estate recording, building regulations and highway maintenance.
