BVGlazing offers engineering and design resources to develop innovative solutions for residential, railing and commercial glazing products. Drawing upon more than 60 years of experience, we deliver exceptional solutions, comprehensive customer service and expert consultation to the Window Wall, Curtain Wall, and Railing industries.
ABOUT THE VACANCY
We are currently looking for an experienced and goal-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, and maintaining strong, positive relationships with suppliers.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Initiate purchasing of materials required for various projects, ensuring accurate quantities and specifications.
• Assess and forecast material requirements, develop specifications based on project timelines and inventory turnover, and place orders accordingly.
• Review and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and adherence to technical specifications.
• Determine and negotiate contract terms and conditions; stay current with market conditions, industry developments, and new products to assist in procurement decisions.
• Monitor the progress of deliveries, establish delivery schedule logistics, and track order status; address any delays and make adjustments as necessary to maintain production schedules.
• Evaluate risks, prepare forecasts for material requirements, and generate reports with recommendations related to the supply market.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary diploma/certificate in business administration, commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or glazing industry.
• Familiarity with building materials, glass, aluminum, and related glazing products is an asset
• Strong planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Fluent English
• High level of integrity and work ethic
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
WORK CONDITIONS
• Permanent, full-time position
• $36.00 per hour for 35 hours of work week
• Comprehensive benefits package (including extended health care and dental benefits)
