About Us
Dasmesh Transport Inc. is a Brampton-based trucking company providing freight/logistics services, including long-haul and regional transportation across Canada and the U.S. We are looking for an experienced Purchaser to join our team.
Duties
• Purchase fleet parts, tires, lubricants, fuel, tools, equipment, and shop supplies.
• Identify suppliers and vendors, request and compare quotes, and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring confirmation of delivery dates.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies to keep trucks and trailers operational.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations staff to determine purchasing needs.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents, resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier files, and pricing databases.
• Evaluate supplier performance and nurture relationships with vendors.
• Process warranty claims and returns as needed.
• Help control purchasing costs and prepare purchasing reports.
Requirements
• Education: College diploma or university degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
• Experience: 2 years or more of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in trucking, transportation or heavy equipment
• Language: English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of truck and trailer parts, or willingness to learn quickly
• Strong negotiation, organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and purchasing or inventory software
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
