About the Role:
A specialty, technology-driven insurance organization is seeking a Commercial Property Underwriter (E&S) to support its growing national portfolio. This role is ideal for professionals who understand the non-admitted market and can balance risk selection, pricing discipline, and speed of execution. You will work closely with brokers, leverage advanced data tools, and contribute directly to portfolio performance and underwriting strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite new and renewal E&S commercial property business within delegated authority
Evaluate complex, distressed, CAT-exposed, and loss-driven property risks
Analyze COPE data, financials, loss runs, and catastrophe modeling outputs
Structure policy terms including deductibles, sublimits, and exclusions
Drive profitable growth within underwriting guidelines and risk appetite
Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and partners
Monitor rate adequacy, exposure management, and CAT aggregation
Support underwriting guidelines, product development, and portfolio strategy
Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and leadership teams

Required Qualifications:
2–5 years of commercial property underwriting experience
Strong understanding of non-admitted/E&S market dynamics
Experience handling CAT-exposed risks (wind, hail, wildfire, flood)
Ability to assess complex or hard-to-place risks
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Preferred:
E&S underwriting experience strongly preferred
Experience with middle-market or large property schedules
Comfort using data tools and analytics for underwriting decisions
