We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Tolko Industries Ltd, High Prairie OSB Division at 18022 AB-2, High Prairie, Alberta, Canada T0G 1E0. This mill is undergoing an exciting major rebuild and modernization and we’d love to have you join our team!
In this role you will:
• Bring together various members of the team to problem solve and implement innovative solutions.
• Ensure all provincial and safety regulations are adhered to.
• Manage the planning, execution, monitoring, control and closing of engineering projects.
• Play critical role in the annual capital projects, budgeting and planning.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar).
• Post-degree or equivalent academic training in Project Management is an asset.
Required Skills and Abilities (must haves):
• Demonstrated experience managing capital projects from initiation to closeout, including scope definition, design coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and execution oversight.
• Experience assessing and mitigating risks across design, construction, operations, and safety.
• Experience working in Oriented Strand Board industries.
• Proven ability to interpret and validate technical drawings, specifications, and standards in compliance with engineering practices and regulatory requirements.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors across all project phases.
• Proven ability to plan, manage, and track project budgets and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of financial principles, capital project management processes, and corporate costing guidelines.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for project planning and reporting.
• Competence in AutoCAD and Navisworks for design review and technical evaluations.
• Experience using JDE (or similar ERP systems) for maintenance, materials management, and project tracking.
• Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive engineering documentation, technical specifications, contractor packages, and final project reports.
• Able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
Other Requirements
· Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
· Must provide acceptable employment references.
· Must be available to work 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime. To support your team, you must be available for on-call duty.

· You will earn between $51.69 to $61.35 per hour (with potential for performance-based pay increases) plus a bi-weekly living allowance of 10% of salary. This role is eligible for overtime and our Gainshare program with earning potential up to an additional $3.00 per hour.
