Teach What You Love with The Errant Classroom
In-person across New England | Flexible schedule | Paid opportunity | 1099 contractor
Do you have a craft, skill, or passion you love? Whether you’re a hobbyist, artisan, naturalist, performer, or lifelong learner—we want to work with you! As a program leader!
The Errant Classroom is reimagining education by offering hands-on, in-person programs for kids, teens, adults, and families—all outside traditional classrooms. From embroidery to blacksmithing, storytelling to science experiments, woodworking to wild edibles... if you love it, you can teach it.
Why Join Us?
• Make money doing what you love—on your own terms
• Choose what you teach, when you teach, and who it’s for (kids, adults, families)
• Host at a location in your area and we arrange or use your own space
• No teaching certificate required—just real-world knowledge and a passion for sharing
Pay & Compensation
• 50/50 profit split between you and The Errant Classroom
– after deducting materials, venue rentals, and vendor/event fees
• Earn a larger share if you:
– provide your own location
– lead multiple programs per month
• We handle: registration, marketing, participant communication, and insurance coverage
A 1099 Independent Contractor Role
As a 1099 contractor:
• You are self-employed
• You control your schedule and offerings
• You are responsible for tracking and reporting your income during tax season
• This is not an employee position—no benefits or payroll taxes are withheld
We aim to make it easy and supportive for passionate people to step into teaching—whether it's your side gig, a new venture, or something you already do.
