De Visser Gray is seeking a CPA to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Partnership you will play a key role with a focus on audit of publicly-traded exploration companies. The position specifically requires strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS), and experience in preparing corporate tax re-turns (and foreign reporting information forms) for these entities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform audits of financial statements prepared under the International Financial Reporting Standards for Canadian public companies listed on Canadian stock exchanges under both the Canadian Auditing Standards and the audit standards of the Public Company Accounting Over-sight Board (USA).
• Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements
• Attend and visit offices and sites of above noted public companies as needed
• Work and attend downtown office in person with all other members of the firm.
• Prepare Compilation Engagement files for small, private businesses. Including:
o Corporate tax preparation.
o Associated personal tax element for the owner(s) of that business.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements under IFRS for publicly traded Companies.
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations to improve Client's ac-counting practices.
• Analyze journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns and other accounting and financial records.
• Review and approve bank reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
• Examine corporate and individual accounting records and prepare:
o financial statements and reports.
o income tax returns.
• Supervise and train articling students and bookkeepers reporting deficiencies suggestive improvements to senior partnership term.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with post graduate specialization in Financial Accounting
• CPA Designation
• Exceptional verbal and written English.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in accountancy role in accountancy firm.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Advanced working knowledge of the following software: CaseWare, Caseview, Profile tax software, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Quickbooks, QBO, Sage
• Accountable - Fast and efficient, able to respond to sense of urgency and competing priorities.
• Motivated - Displays intent & desire to learn and become a subject matter expert.
