Overview
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced machine and heat treatment shop. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and shop activities run efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet goals for quality, delivery, and efficiency.
Monitor production schedules, material flow, and equipment utilization for optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve process challenges, identifying root causes and applying lasting improvements.
Supervise and develop machinists, operators, and team leads while fostering teamwork and engagement.
Collaborate across departments (Quality, Engineering, Maintenance) to maintain consistent standards.
Track performance metrics such as output, downtime, and scrap rates to identify areas for improvement.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
Maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Minimum of 5 years in machining, manufacturing, or production leadership.
Strong understanding of CNC machining, production planning, and metalworking processes.
Knowledge of ACME screw machines, Heat Treatment, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PartMaker, or coding (G/M) is a plus.
Proven leadership and team development skills in a high-paced environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
