Production Manager, Engineering Job

Plan, direct, manage, and follow-up on all duties required for management of all assembly operations in YEA; Establish annual goals for each functional area of the assembly operation: Sub-assembly, main assembly, test, packaging, and training; Compare actual performance against established targets, prepare performance reports, and review reports with assembly associates; Take necessary action to: eliminate delays and ensure adherence to the production schedules; eliminate errors and ensure adherence to the quality goals; and maintain the continuous improvement processes; Specific goals which must be obtained and/or maintained: IPD Internal quality: <0. 2%; MPD Internal quality: < 0.5%; IPD & MPD productivity compared to standard: 100%; Plan and review shop floor schedules; Coordinate with material control department to ensure that all schedules are attainable and support the corporate sales forecasted demands; Monitor work force efficiencies and effectiveness; Utilize Kaizen activities to plan and implement improvements, including policies and procedures, to problems related to all assembly functions; Assist in the development of the Department’s operating and capital expense budget, both short-term and long-term needs, and continually monitoring the same; Maintain data integrity for all Assembly operations, as required, in SAP; Maintain department adherence to ISO 9001:2000 requirements; Implement safety prevention ideas; and Plan and assign work for the most efficient use of personnel and equipment; and Participate in company-sponsored activities, including suggestion program, quality training, etc.

Requirements – bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Engineering and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in assembly or production activities. Special skills – Experience with Kaizen quality improvement process along with a thorough knowledge of classical quality management and utilizing team based shop floor management techniques.
