Product Specialist Job

Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Specialist 1 to manage batch job scheduling and production control operations across mainframe and distributed systems. This 2nd shift (3:00pm-12am) remote role focuses on Control-M/EM job scheduling, batch workload management, and abend resolution in coordination with programmers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
• Schedule temporary and permanent jobs via Control-M/EM and modify existing job schedules
• Manage, monitor, and analyze mainframe/distributed batch workload and job abends
• Manage and maintain calendars within Control-M/EM
• Identify and fix common abends; alert support staff and escalate to management when SLAs are at risk
• Document all issues via ServiceNow tickets (Incidents & Incident Tasks)
• Use TSO/ISPF, JCL, and Control-M/Enterprise Manager efficiently for daily operations
• Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with programmers and support staff

Required Skills & Certifications
• 2–5 years' efficiency in BMC Control-M for scheduling and managing batch jobs
• 2–5 years' efficiency in BMC Enterprise Manager for scheduling and managing batch jobs
• 2–5 years managing batch workload on AJF for mainframe and client-server applications
• Ability to analyze alert/shout messages, determine severity, and follow escalation procedures
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF to analyze batch job status and issues
• Capability to recognize server problems using Nagios, IP Monitor, and Tivoli
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills & Certifications
• Expert-level JCL abend identification and resolution
• Familiarity with ServiceNow Incidents & Tasks
• General mainframe knowledge and SDSF experience
