BC Box Mfg Ltd., a premier provider of corrugated boxes and packaging solutions on the West Coast, located at 106 - 13025 76 Avenue Surrey BC V3W 2V7 has an immediate vacancy for 1 Printing press operator. The position is full time/ permanent, 30 hours/week, $35.00/hour.
Duties involve:
• Advise press crew on product specifications or material requirements
• Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments
• Review job orders to determine production time, colour sequence and quantities required
• Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity
• Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples
• Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console
• Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run
• Perform other routine maintenance
• Operate machines which press paper
• Operate machines which cut, fold, glue or clip paper and cardboard
• Operate machines which glue paper to cardboard and cut it
Applicant must be able to work under pressure. Physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colours and standing for extended periods are the additional capabilities of the applicant. Work site is noisy.
The applicant must have completed secondary (high) school education. Previous related experience will be an asset. Language of work will be English.
