Job Description:
We are looking to hire a full-time Printing Press Operator to join our facility.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Prepare, adjust, and install printing plates, rollers, and ink to the printing press.
• Load paper, film, or other materials into the press.
• Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed lumber wrap materials.
• Adjust the press settings for color matching and to ensure high-quality prints on specially coated materials.
• Control and adjust ink flow, pressure, speed, and other variables to ensure that the printed products meet company standards.
• Prepare printing materials (inks, coatings, and substrates such as film or paper)
• Install and align printing plates and ensure they are properly set for accurate printing.
• Adjust machinery to accommodate custom orders and specific customer specifications for printed designs and branding.
• Monitor the printing press during operation to detect and resolve any issues such as ink smudging, color inconsistencies, or equipment malfunctions.
• Inspect printed wrap covers to ensure they meet the required quality standards for clarity, color, and overall print quality.
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain consistency in print quality across production runs.
• Assist with performing regular maintenance tasks on printing equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition.
• Troubleshoot issues related to the printing press, such as mechanical failures, ink problems, or misalignment, and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
• Work with customers and production teams to fulfill customized printing orders for lumber covers, such as special logos, designs, or color schemes.
• Ensure that printed materials are tailored to meet the specific needs of the client and their transportation and storage requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and practices while operating heavy machinery and working with chemicals such as inks and coatings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment to prevent accidents or contamination of materials.
• Maintain records of production runs, material usage, and machine settings for quality control and inventory purposes.
• Report any production issues, defects, or necessary adjustments to supervisors or management.
• Collaborate with other operators, machine mechanics, and supervisors to optimize production processes.
• Communicate effectively to ensure that production schedules are met and customer orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
• Work with specially coated materials and assist with their integration into the printing process for added durability and weather resistance required for lumber wrap covers.

• Completion of Grade 12 or any related hands-on training program would be preferred, not a compulsory
• Experience working in a similar role or setting would be an asset.
