REPORTS TO: Director of Ops / Production Manager or Operations Manager
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time (30-40 hours), permanent

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Press operator - printing (Digital Press Operator) efficiently operates, calibrates, and maintains our presses ensure excellent quality, machine uptime and that customer expectations are exceeded. Responsible for supplying printed rolls of film (PE, BOPP, PET and other polymer-based substrates) to the lamination department. Responsible for machine upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance during break/fix with Lead Operator or HP Technical Support team’s assistance.

Job Requirements:
Essential Duties
• Regularly calibrates press via color calibration to ensure excellent print quality consistently.
• Efficiently sets up machine to maximize uptime and minimize damage.
• Load and mount ink, rolls of material, and other supplies.
• Set up press according to job specifications based on job ticket.
• Print test samples and quality runs, recalibrating to client desires as needed.
• Check supplies and perform daily and weekly maintenance on machinery.
• Monitors print quality while machine is in production.
• Inputs production, consumption, and waste data into Microsoft NAV (ERP)
• Keeps pressroom clean and organized.
• Could be asked to support other parts of the operations including pouch assistant, slitting, and lamination.
• Communicates with Prepress and Converting department when necessary.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Simple mathematical ability and knowledge required
• Mechanical skills and computer literacy
• Attention to detail, especially type faces and colours
• Troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
• Ability to tolerate noisy
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• 1-3 years in production field.
• Experience with digital printing preferred.
• High school diploma or higher.
• HP Operator 1 training desired
• Responsibility in the area of food safety essentials from AIB international 5.4.1.1 section of adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs
• Specialty experience with web presses, flexographic presses, offset presses, rotogravure presses is required.
