What You’ll Do
Lead the design and development of advanced automotive components, creating high-quality deliverables including 3D models, 2D drawings, technical reports, and work instructions
Present your work in design reviews, clearly communicating progress, risks, and key performance metrics
Solve complex engineering challenges by developing practical, data-driven solutions to meet targets for cost, weight, durability, and performance
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across drivetrain, vehicle design, purchasing, and manufacturing to bring designs from concept to production
Partner with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components that meet program milestones
Continuously improve design processes and workflows to enhance quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
Analyze competitive designs and industry benchmarks to ensure innovative, cost-effective solutions that meet customer expectations
Travel occasionally (approximately 10%) to support collaboration and project needs
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
4+ years of experience in automotive design and development
Strong CAD expertise and a solid understanding of GD&T principles
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of conventional, hybrid, and electrified powertrains
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Valid driver’s license with a record that meets company standards
What Sets You Apart
Master’s degree in Engineering
Experience designing internal combustion engine systems such as lubrication, fuel, cooling, intake, exhaust, belt systems, and timing components
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including castings, thermoplastics, stampings, and forgings
Experience with tools such as CREO, WBDM, and CAE software (FEA, CFD, GT Power, or similar)
Hands-on experience with engine or powertrain assembly
Deep understanding of GD&T and manufacturing methods for engines and transmissions
Knowledge of design review methodologies such as DRBFM
Understanding of quality and supply chain management principles
Experience working in diverse, global team environments
Exposure to production engineering
