Job Title: Powerhouse Maintenance Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Shift Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Perform operations required to install, maintain, and repair a range of powerhouse equipment, including steam boilers, air compressors, automatic boiler controls, pumps, motors, power generating equipment, and pressurized piping systems (water, steam, oil, compressed air, and natural gas).
Conduct chemical testing to ensure proper maintenance of boilers and related equipment.
Disassemble complex units to diagnose issues, repair or replace defective components, and reassemble as needed.
Use a variety of hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery for tasks such as bending, threading, cutting, and soldering pipes.
Maintain high-pressure steam systems, including steam lines, traps, strainers, regulators, valves, and insulation throughout the facility.
Troubleshoot and repair powerhouse equipment, working with both analog and digital control systems.
Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical/plumbing diagrams to identify symbols and follow technical guidance.
Manage time schedules and energy management system data through system entry and editing.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Powerhouse Technician, with expertise in repairing steam boilers, air compressors, complex electrical equipment, automatic boiler controls, pumps, motors, power-generating equipment, and pressurized piping systems.
Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the Syracuse facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Five (5) full-time years of experience as a Powerhouse Technician.
Strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of mechanical equipment.
