is in need of Poultry Farm Worker
NOC Code: 85100
Employment Terms: Full Time – Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all Biosecurity protocols are meticulously followed.
2. Ensure Animal Care program is followed and bird welfare is achieved.
3. Ensure CHEQ program (On Farm Food Safety program) is followed and all records are completed and filed.
4. Monitor barn controls. Verify temperatures and water consumption are with in tolerable Limits by recording daily. Notify management of unusual readings.
5. Inspect feed systems to ensure proper functioning and refill.
6. Inspect barn environment to ensure bird comfort using the F.L.A.W.S system. Monitor Feed, Lights, Air, Water and Sanitation.
7. Ensure Bird mortality is picked up and cull birds are removed and accurately recorded. Load mortality and cull eggs on tractor bucket for removal.
8. Manage egg packers, egg washers and equipment. Ensure eggs are sorted and packed according to Hatchery and CFIA standards.
9. Ensure eggs are loaded on trucks and paperwork is accurately completed.
10. Keep all work areas clean and tidy.
11. Assist in litter management and bedding maintenance.
12. Report mechanical breakdowns to maintenance personal.
13. Report unusual bird health and egg production to production Manager.
14. All work is to be carried out in a safe manner and safety rules to be followed.
15. Complete accurate time cards weekly.
16. Operate Utility tractor, skid steer, back pack blower, power washer and various other equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
17. Perform maintenance on tractors, lawn mowers and lawn equipment, power washers and various small tools and equipment.
18. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Employment Requirements:
1. Education: No specific education requirement.
2. Work Experience: Previous poultry farm experience would be an asset but not required; On-the-job training will be provided.
Working Hours: 8-9 hours/day, 40-55 hours/week; normal work hours are from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (working hours may vary depending on business requirement); 1-2 varied days off per week
Wage/Benefits: We offer a base wage of $18.00 per hour, with a $2.00/hour weekend premium ($20.00/hour total) for weekend production work only.
