Plumber Job

Whyte Mechanical Ltd. is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team operating in Metro Vancouver.

This position is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week; $48.00 per hour. Plus, extended health benefits.

Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with the BC Plumbing Code and project specifications
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and construction drawings to plan installations independently
- Coordinate with general contractors, site supervisors, and other trades to sequence work and ensure efficiency
- Pressure-test piping systems and identify leaks or malfunctions; complete necessary repairs with precision
- Lead or oversee apprentices and junior plumbers on site, offering guidance and ensuring code-compliant installations
- Perform complex custom installations, including multi-head showers, wall-hung toilets, hydronic heating systems, and high-efficiency water systems
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, site conditions, and installation progress
- Adhere to safety procedures and ensure proper job site clean-up upon project completion

Requirements:
- Completion of a high school diploma;
- Minimum 3–5 years of full-time plumbing experience, ideally in custom residential or commercial projects;
- Journeyperson trade certification in plumbing (SkilledTradesBC or equivalent) is preferred; foreign credentials with strong experience will be considered;
- Strong ability to work independently and make on-site decisions;
- Clean Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract;
- English language ability is required;
