Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 hours per Week
Employment conditions: Morning, Day

On the road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
Work site environment: Dangerous, At heights, Confined spaces, Wet/damp, Noisy
Work setting: Various locations, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional
Tasks:
• Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipe
• Schedule materials, tools and personnel
• Liaise with management, engineers and other trades
• Instruct apprentices
• Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
• Installs valves, alarms and associated equipment
• Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
• Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Select type and size of pipe required
• Test system for leaks using testing equipment
• Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
• Estimate costs and materials
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Driver's License, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Drug test, Driver's validity licence check
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence, Own transportation, Willing to travel
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Hand-eye co-ordination
