Job Description
Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision and installation of underground pipe including communication and electric utilities. Storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water line, box culverts, inlets, and manholes. The Foreman will also be responsible for the oversight of a 2-6 person crew. This position reports directly to the Superintendent. Must be hands-on, self-motivated, with a teamwork mentality. Please include all relevant construction certifications.
Qualifications:
Ensuring the highest quality output for each project with a focus on safety and profitability
Read, identify, and understand blueprints related to all above and below ground utilities. Make sure you are working with up to date blueprints.
Ordering, scheduling and coordinating the delivery of materials
Set up of lasers and/or transits for pipe installation and grading operations.
Make sure the following tools are on site and in working order: transit, laser, de-watering pump, tapping machine, tampers, pipe saw, tampers, and hand tools.
Make sure the excavation is properly shored, sloped, or sheeted before anyone enters.
Check to see that the proper stone and/or back fill material is ordered for the job as needed.
Visually check for utilities, if utility locates are not marked or cannot be defined, check with the Foreman before you dig.
Experience:
Pipe Foreman: 5 years (Preferred)
