Job Description:
Physical Therapist is needed to perform the following duties:
• Assesses client needs by obtaining a history and examining the functional status of musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, integumentary, and neuromuscular systems.
• Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
• Plan and prepare a written treatment program based on the evaluation of patient data.
• Administers therapeutic modalities; performs mobilization/manipulation techniques; prescribes, fabricates, and/or applies assistive and adaptive devices.
• Updates plan of care as determined by client’s progress.
• Evaluate patients’ progression at different stages and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Set short-term and long-term goals to reach an optimal level of prognostic outcome.
• Perform and document data to verify patient’s health and progress during the therapy on daily basis and notify supervising Physical Therapist.
• Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine further treatment required and update or notify it to supervising Physical Therapist and other rehab team members
• Obtain patients' informed consent to proposed interventions.
• Administers physical therapy treatments by giving massages, manual therapy, strengthening and stretching exercise, applying physical agents like moist packs, TENS, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines; in the observation of the Physical therapist and directing treatments given by aides, technicians
• Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
• Notify the Supervising Physical Therapist to Inform other team members to refer to appropriate practitioners when diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy.
• Inform about Patient’s Discharge from physical therapy to the team when goals or projected outcomes have been attained
• Advising and preparing the patient and family about in-home treatment options and exercises before discharge from physical therapy.
Bachelor’s degree is required in
Physical Therapy or Physiotherapy or Kinesiology
