The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy – Pharmacy Technical Assistant
The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is actively looking to hire five (5) Pharmacy Technical Assistants for a permanent, full-time position to work at our The Pas, Manitoba location.
The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is a privately-owned pharmacy serving the healthcare and medical needs of the community in The Pas, Manitoba. One of the primary goals of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is to offer patients and customers efficient and friendly services while making them feel comfortable to ask questions. Over the years, The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy has built a customer base from the community in The Pas and around that values them as a resource and depends on them for their health and wellness needs. With an intention to streamline the services for an increasing customer base, The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is now looking to expand their team by hiring experienced, dependable and a proactive store Pharmacy Technical Assistants to take on responsibilities listed below.
Job Duties:
Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technical Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Reviewing and assessing prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with pharmacy regulations.
• Accurately entering patient and prescription information into pharmacy databases and management systems.
• Assisting pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products, ensuring correct dispensing.
• Managing medication inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering, receiving, and proper storage of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Compounding oral solutions, ointments, and creams as directed.
• Processing medical billing and insurance claims in accordance with policies.
• Pricing, stocking, and maintaining merchandise on pharmacy shelves in a clean, organized manner.
• Providing excellent customer service by answering basic questions and referring complex inquiries to pharmacists.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and privacy regulations in daily pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technical Assistant or in a related field is considered an asset.
• On the job training will be provided
• Fluency in English, with excellent oral communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Must meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly Wage: $30.00 - $31.00 per hour.
• Work Schedule: 6-8 hours per day, approximately 30 hours per week, 5 days a week, with alternating weekends.
