Wellkare Downtown Pharmacy has an immediate opening for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant (NOC: 33103) at our location in Hamilton, Ontario.
As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant (NOC: 33103), you will perform some or all of the following duties:
• Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medication to patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medication orders.
• Ensure the prescriptions records have accurate information and enter client information in the database.
• Assist pharmacists to prepare and package medication orders, labeling and organizing them for easy retrieval and distribution.
• Maintain inventory levels of medication and supplies, ordering new stock as needed and ensuring proper storage and rotation of existing stock.
• Create an oral compound solution, ointments and creams as per the pharmacists’ instructions.
• Provide information and advice to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, and side effects, under the direction of a pharmacist.
• Conduct administrative tasks such as record-keeping, billing, and insurance claims processing.
• Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy equipment and supplies, performing routine maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Pharmacy assistants require completion of a Pharmacy Assistant college program, ranging from six to twelve months or completion of secondary school and several months of experience or training is require.
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (30-40 hours/week)
Compensation: CA $ 21.00/hour
