Pharmacy Assistant Job

Wage: $34.10/hr

Education required: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience required: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience is required

Pharmacy assistant job responsibilities will be:
Greet customers and respond to inquiries about medications, prescriptions, and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
Support pharmacists and staff in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of medications.
Review prescriptions to ensure they are complete and accurate.
Provide updates to customers on prescription status and estimated wait times
Maintain prescription filing systems and documentation of client details.
Help with preparing documentation for insurance claims and third-party billing.
Prepare compounded products such as oral solutions, ointments, and creams.
Dispose of expired or damaged medications according to regulations.
Help manage inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
Handle medical billing tasks.
Organize and maintain prescription workstations to ensure smooth workflow.
Comply with provincial pharmacy regulations and workplace safety protocols.
