Pet Groomer Job

Main duties:
• Bathe animals using appropriate shampoos and conditioners based on coat type and skin condition.
• Dry animals using towels, cage dryers, or hand dryers while monitoring for safety and stress.
• Brush and comb coats to remove tangles, mats, and loose hair.
• Clip, trim, and style coats using clippers, scissors, and grooming tools according to breed standards or owner instructions.
• Safely shave severely matted coats when required for the animal’s welfare.
• Trim nails and clean ears.
• Express anal glands if required and if trained to do so.
• Assess coat and skin condition and inform pet owners of any concerns, such as parasites, infections, lumps, or injuries.
• Handle animals safely and humanely, including difficult or anxious pets.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, equipment, and work area
• Maintain grooming records and follow client instructions
• Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding grooming results, coat condition, and maintenance needs

Number of positions: 1
Full-time-Permanent: 36-40 hrs/week

Young applicants will be preferred.

Experience
1-2 years of relevant industry experience
Salary
$ 16/ Hour

• Overtime Pay (1.5 times the hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week)
• Vacation Pay as per Saskatchewan Standards (3 weeks or 5.77% of vacation pay)
