Job requirements
Languages: English is required, Korean is not required but it is an asset as most clients are Korean speakers.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
Certificates: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Personal Support Worker Certificate
Experience: Work experience as a personal support worker for 7 months or less is required.
Work setting: Client’s Home/ Various locations
Tasks/ Job Duties: Provide bedside and personal care to clients, including assistance with hygiene and grooming; Administer medications as directed; Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and other daily living activities; Change non-sterile dressings and support basic medical needs; Encourage and assist clients in physical activities such as walking or light exercise; Wash and maintain client’s clothing and household linens; Assist clients with eating or feed them when required; Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals based on individual health or dietary needs; Perform light housekeeping tasks and keep the living environment clean and safe; Offer companionship and emotional support to clients; Shop for groceries and household essentials as needed; Provide overall personal care and ensure clients’ comfort and well-being
