Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $21.00 per hour; Gross wages are subject to applicable federal and provincial taxes and statutory deductions.
Other Benefits: Travel expenses and relocation costs will be covered by the employer
Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation per year
Hours of Work: 30-40 hours per week; Overtime pay (X1.5) after 44 hours per week
Job Responsibilities:
The Personal Support Aide will provide compassionate in-home care and assistance to our father, senior diagnosed with dementia. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Provide attentive, person-centered care and supervision in a safe home environment
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support mobility, transfers, ensuring fall prevention and safety
• May need to assist with feeding and meal preparation, including adherence to dietary requirements
• Monitor and administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals or family members
• Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging in meaningful activities
• Implement memory care strategies to support cognitive function and reduce confusion or agitation
• Maintain a structured daily routine to support stability and comfort for the elder
• Observe and report any changes in physical or mental condition to family members
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to client care (laundry, cleaning, meal cleanup)
• Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic living environment
• Accompany the elder to medical appointments or walks, as required

Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
• Previous experience of 3-6 months in caregiving, particularly with dementia or elderly care, is required
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors associated with dementia in a calm and professional manner
• Physically capable of assisting with mobility and daily care tasks
