Job Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will play a critical role in ostomy care and wound management. Working closely with Colorectal and Urology surgeons, the NP ensures comprehensive care before and after surgery, including patient education, site marking, and long-term management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide both inpatient and outpatient ostomy care
- Pre-surgical site markings for ostomies
- Educate patients and families on ostomy care, expectations, and lifestyle adaptations
- Conduct thorough patient assessments (wound status, skin integrity, general health)
- Create individualized care plans to promote healing and manage complications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Use evidence-based wound care and advanced techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation per hospital protocols
- Uphold compassionate care for a vulnerable population
Experience & Qualifications:
Board Certified NP (by time of start) – Required
Active NY license or willing to obtain – Required
WOCN Certification – Required (No exceptions)
DEA license or willing to obtain – Required
Knowledge & experience in wound care and ostomies – Required
At least 1 year of NP employment experience in wound/ostomy care – Highly Preferred
Will consider 2025 NP graduates
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary Range: $114,430 – $123,584
(Starting range only; excludes bonuses, incentives, CME, etc.)
Relocation Allowance available (reimbursed up to contracted amount)
