Job duties and Responsibilities: -
* Maintain and update employee records (attendance, leave, overtime) to calculate pay and benefits in Canadian and other currencies
* Prepare and verify employee earnings statements, including gross/net pay and deductions (taxes, union dues, garnishments, insurance, pensions)
* Process all payroll payments, including regular wages, benefits, bonuses, and vacation pay
* Complete and manage documentation for employee benefits (pensions, leaves, savings plans, insurance)
* Prepare payroll filings and supporting documents (year-end tax forms, Records of Employment, pension reports)
* Provide information and support on payroll, benefits, and collective agreements
* Compile and review reports and summaries related to compensation and benefits
* Reconcile payroll records with bank statements and prepare period-end reports
* Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
* Assist in developing and improving payroll policies, procedures, and systems
