Pastoral Counselor Job

Provide individual and group counseling to church members experiencing mental problems to help them adjust to life and make any necessary changes. Encourage members to express their feelings regarding mental problems and discuss what is happening in their lives in a safe and nurturing environment using interpersonal and intercultural approach. Guide and initiate programs for the development of skills and strategies for dealing with mental problems. Help congregants to overcome emergency mental problems in crisis situations. Develop and implement constructive programs such as counseling for married couples and troubled families and programs to develop positive character to promote mental health among congregants. Maintain confidentiality of counseling records and prepare counseling records and reports.

Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or Related Major Required.
