Parts and Service Supervisor – Heavy Equipment Repair Shop
NNK Equipment Services is a heavy construction equipment repair and service shop seeking an experienced Parts and Service Supervisor to oversee the daily workflow, including parts inventory, technician scheduling, and service dispatch for heavy-duty construction equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, cranes, and related machinery).
Main Duties
• Supervise, plan, and review parts/inventory, including receiving, storing, distributing, and tracking parts and components for heavy construction equipment repairs
• Coordinate and schedule work orders between customers, technicians, and the shop floor to ensure timely repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
• Requisition, order, and maintain adequate inventory levels of parts, components, and supplies required for heavy equipment repairs, and liaise with suppliers and manufacturers
• Establish work schedules and procedures, and coordinate activities with other work units or departments (e.g., mechanics, field service technicians, warranty administration)
• Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports related to parts, inventory, and service scheduling
• Ensure smooth operation of computerized inventory, dispatch, and tracking systems, and recommend measures to improve productivity and equipment performance
• Requisition materials and supplies, and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or delays in equipment repair turnaround
• Establish and monitor safety procedures and ensure staff compliance with company policies, safety regulations (e.g., WorkSafeBC/OH&S), and quality standards
• Provide training and orientation to new staff on inventory systems, safety procedures, and shop workflow
• May supervise the ordering and tracking of warranty parts and coordinate with equipment manufacturers on warranty claims
• Investigate customer and employee complaints related to service delays, parts availability, or work quality, and implement corrective measures
• May perform the same parts/inventory/dispatch duties.
Requirements
• Completion of secondary school
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related occupation is required
• Demonstrated experience working in a workshop or industrial setting would be considered an asset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple work orders and shifting priorities in a fast-paced shop environment
• Valid driver's license considered an asset
• Experience with computerized inventory, dispatch, or work-order tracking systems considered an asset
