Part Development Engineer Job

• Conduct structural and material analyses of competitor products, including automotive head and mirror systems, to identify cost improvement opportunities and support design optimization initiatives;
• Coordinate with suppliers to evaluate and select materials and components in accordance with engineering specifications and development requirements;
• Conduct design reviews prior to mold fabrication to support manufacturability, quality, and production readiness;
• Support mold transfer and production readiness activities by coordinating tooling validation and process verification;
• Perform injection mold try-out activities and identify and resolve process and tooling issues during production activities;
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support component development and integration into manufacturing processes;
• Conduct feasibility studies to assess manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency of new product designs;
• Verify and validate the Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and completeness throughout the development process;
• Update sub-assembly structures for outsourced components upon BOM release to ensure alignment with current design specifications;
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials for mechanical components based on performance, durability, cost, and manufacturability considerations;
• Perform component source verification activities for outsourced parts to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards;
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address discrepancies identified during validation and implement corrective actions;
• Conduct cost management activities during the development phase to support internal cost targets and improvement initiatives;
• Apply value engineering principles to identify cost reduction opportunities and collaborate with suppliers to implement improvements;

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments, including product development, production processes, or quality-related functions;
- Experience supporting development-stage activities such as mold-related processes, production readiness, or process improvement;
- Experience with mold-related processes, including injection molding, tooling validation, or try-out activities;
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes;
- Experience working with suppliers and supporting vendor coordination in manufacturing environments;
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality teams.
