Job Title: Paralegal
Job Duties: Prepare and file requisite Judicial Council forms for hearings, including Case Management Conferences (CMC) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) reviews, ensuring strict adherence to applicable court rules, procedures, and deadlines to maintain procedural compliance; Systematically organize evidence and relevant documentation for trial exhibits and binders, ensuring all materials are readily accessible for presentation in court. Prepare comprehensive witness lists and coordinate logistical arrangements for witness attendance, including travel and scheduling considerations; Collaborate with attorneys in settlement negotiations by compiling documentation, drafting persuasive and legally sound demand letters, and organizing supporting materials, including visual aids; Conduct initial client intake interviews utilizing structured questionnaires to elicit comprehensive case information. Assess case viability against legal standards and applicable statutes, identify immediate legal issues, and maintain accurate, confidential records in the case management system while providing clients with informed guidance on procedural next steps; Draft compelling settlement demand letters that succinctly summarize case facts, establish clear legal liability, detail quantifiable damages (including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering), and propose a reasonable settlement amount supported by relevant case law and precedents; and Draft tailored interrogatories and requests for production specifically targeting the opposing party’s evidence related to liability and damages, ensuring that the language is precise and legally effective to facilitate clear and comprehensive responses.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in political science, Criminology or related field in social science and 12 months of experience as a Law Office Manager, Legal Assistant or a related legal occupation. The required 1 year of experience must include utilization of county court portals, PACER, EDR Tools, EsquireTek and Microsoft Office Suite. Also requires a paralegal certification and proficiency in Spanish to the extent of answering client queries and providing translation services. Involves occasional travel (less than 5%) inside the same Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) to DMV, medical offices, insurance agents, client residences, police stations, and incident locations for case-related tasks and data collection.
Wage: 103,667.00 per year.
