Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $ 28.85 per hour
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
Work locations: Surrey, BC, and various other job sites in the Lower Mainland (BC) area as per the company’s contracts with its clients.
Job Responsibilities:
• Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scrapping etc. and priming as necessary.
• Remove old wallpaper, and loose paint, repair cracks, holes, and other defects on surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
• Protect unpainted areas using masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective materials.
• Mix and thin paint to obtain the desired color and texture.
• Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Apply wallpaper and fabric wall coverings by accurately measuring, cutting, and adhering them to walls.
• Ensure that scaffolding or ladders are set up, used safely, and dismantled after the work.
• Advise customer on selection of color schemes and choice of wall coverings when requested.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school.
• Completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program OR a minimum of 3 years experience in the same field is required.
• Ability to communicate in English.
