PAINTER Job

• Clean, sand, scrape, and fill holes or cracks in walls, ceilings, wood, and other surfaces.
• Apply sealants, primer, and undercoats to ensure smooth finishes.
• Apply paint, wallpaper, stain, enamel, lacquer, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Match and mix paints to desired colours and textures.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces of residential and commercial buildings.
• Operate tools such as spray guns, rollers, brushes, power washers, ladders, scaffolding, and sanders.
• Maintain tools and ensure proper safety while working at heights or confined spaces.
• Match colors using charts or computerized color-matching systems.
• Apply decorative finishes, faux finishes, or specialty coatings as requested by the client.
• Cover surfaces not being painted using drop cloths, masking tape, or plastic sheeting.
• Ensure areas are clean and tidy after job completion.
• Communicate with clients to understand preferences, timelines, and cost estimates.
• Provide updates and address any concerns during the job.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Wear appropriate PPE (respirators, gloves, goggles) to prevent chemical exposure or injuries.

• Completion of secondary school (high school diploma) is required.
• Minimum 1 to 7 months of hands-on cabinetmaking or woodworking experience.
• Experience can include internships, on-the-job training, or supervised apprenticeship.
• Basic understanding of how to read blueprints, sketches, or technical drawings.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools such as table saws, routers, and sanders
• Physically fit to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to measure accurately and cut precisely according to specifications.
• Basic English or French language skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work well with a team.
