ABOUT US
VanderZwaag Construction Inc. provides assistance to our valued customers in getting a problem-free renovation and erecting structures designed out of SPF wood and engineered wood products.
At this time, we need an experienced Painter to join our team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Properly mix and thin paint colors in accordance with determined formulas to obtain desired color and texture
• Prepare and clean surfaces by scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; repair cracks and holes and apply sealer
• Apply paint on wood, fence and decking, railing, wood sidings, exterior stairs, bay box windows and sheds, using brushes, rollers or spray equipment
• Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages for larger-scale projects
• Clean up surface and replace fixtures when a project is complete
• Verify the quality of work and ensure that it meets and exceeds the client’s expectations
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Secondary school diploma
- Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship program or at least 3 years of experience as Painter
- Hands-on knowledge of general renovation
- Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures
- Proficiency in English
WORK CONDITIONS
- Permanent, full-time position
- $26.10 per hour
- 30 hours of work per week
- Overtime pay ($39.15/ hour) applies after 44 hours of work per week
- Company’s main address: 57 Binbrook Road, Binbrook, ON, L0R 1C0. You will be required to travel to customer sites across GTA.
