The Maintenance Engineer supports the general maintenance of the hotel. Areas of responsibility include: painting, pools, flooring, doors, heating/cooling units, other general upkeep, and additional duties as assigned. Other duties include:
Responding to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately
Maintaining HVAC equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs
Maintaining kitchen equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs
Ensuring that the hotel is running efficiently by performing building tours, recording data and repairing any problems found
Keeping adequate level of supplies required to maintain facilities
Demonstrating a thorough knowledge in Life Fire Safety systems
Maintaining rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed
Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
REQUIREMENTS:
•Customer focused attitude
•Exceptional communications skills
•Familiarity with utilities and energy management systems
•Organizational skills
•Knowledge in Life Fire Safety systems
•5 years HVAC experience
•1 to 3 years kitchen equipment repair experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•Pushing and pulling heavy items on a regular basis
•Frequently lifting items of varying weights, including items weighing at least 70 pounds
•Extended periods of standing or sitting
•Periodic stooping, kneeling, and bending
Preferred Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 11 PM - 7:30 AM

- Provides value added service to guests by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Maintains problem log book to record the equipment in need of repair and prioritizes efforts accordingly
- Reports any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and takes immediate action to correct
- Communicates effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors
- Works with outside contractors as necessary to assist them in performing maintenance or construction projects
Maintaining HVAC equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs
- Replaces filters and bearings.
- Replaces motors and shafts as necessary.
- Adjusts HVAC temperatures accordingly to meet guest expectations and stay within budget.
- Perform preventative maintain on all HVAC equipment.
Maintaining kitchen equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs
Ensuring that the hotel is running efficiently by performing building tours, recording data and repairing any problems found
Keeping adequate level of supplies required to maintain facilities
Demonstrating a thorough knowledge in Life Fire Safety systems
- Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on the facilities life safety systems
- Operates life safety system
Maintaining rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed
- Understands the Room Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Replaces or repairs all appliances and damaged bathroom fixtures; executes general plumbing as needed
- Maintains overall appearance of rooms; replaces broken mirrors, hangs fixtures, does touch-up painting, etc.
- Repairs and maintains room's heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems
Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
- Maintains the condition of hotel lobbies and restaurants
- Repairs furniture, carpet, marble, tile windows, mirrors and decorations as necessary
- Maintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs
- Attends schools or seminars to remain current on proper techniques
Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
- Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied
- Performs other duties as required
