Tasks
Analyze the client’s eyeglasses or contact lenses by measuring the client’s eye curvature, pupillary distance and bridge width, using optical measuring devices
Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist
Supervise or manage the activities of other opticians or student opticians
Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses
Advise on the use and care of contact lenses
Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit the client
