Title: Operations Planning Coordinator
Location: Tonganoxie, KS
Job Type: Full Time/Permanent
Job Overview:
The Operations Planning Coordinator is responsible for executing effective production scheduling and replenishment of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials to meet forecasted demand and distribution requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed safety and quality standards.
Plan and set daily and weekly production schedules based on the master production schedule developed by the Inventory, Planning, and Deployment (IPD) Group.
Use SAP to set production plans, schedule requirements, manage inventory, and monitor schedule adherence.
Ensure accuracy of daily transactions in SAP, production reporting systems, and yield reporting; perform monthly and quarterly inventories.
Address logistical issues to maintain inventory levels and recommend contingency plans for business interruptions.
Troubleshoot production scheduling problems, inventory variances, and yield variances in a timely manner.
Support productivity initiatives by monitoring processes and delivering key performance results, including Production, Inventory, Scrap, Cost, Plant Service Level, Cycle Time, and Schedule Attainment.
Collaborate with the Planning Manager to drive customer service, productivity, and cost objectives.
Update SOPs, SAP material masters, and collaborate with the controller on costing for product ingredient changes.
Ensure inventory processes and controls for receiving, inventory management, SLOB, and working capital.
Coordinate with IPD team to support both domestic and international demand.
Manage operating budgets for variable and fixed overheads related to production planning and materials.
Ensure all materials shipped and received comply with corporate and government standards for quality, traceability, and bio-terrorism.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in production, planning, purchasing, customer service, or logistics.
High school diploma.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in finished goods production planning and replenishment of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials to meet forecasted demand and distribution.
Experience in food manufacturing.
Strong results orientation and experience with planning and priority setting.
Consumer/customer focus.
Experience with systems thinking, especially SAP.
Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Broad supply chain knowledge.
Working Relationships:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain best practices for factory performance and reliability.
Coordinate with raw and packaging material suppliers, quality, EHS, and corporate procurement to improve quality, reliability, cost, and safety.
Work with Corporate GIT to ensure effective SAP implementation.
Collaborate with Corporate IPD, Procurement, and Customer Service & Logistics to ensure world-class customer service and quality.
