Job Description:
MITO Contracting Group Inc. is looking for One (1) Occupational Health And Safety Supervisor to perform duties, including the following:
• Develop and deliver workplace health and safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
• Develop and implement health and safety programs, including standard operating procedures, policies and training to mitigate risk, optimize worker’s health and safety and foster positive occupational health and safety culture
• Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform regular workplace inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action follow-ups.
• Lead and participate in workplace audits and investigations of safety concerns, incidents and accidents
• Promote accident and injury prevention strategies through proactive safety initiatives.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response procedures including drills and safety planning.
• Lead and participate in workplace inspections to ensure that equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety policies and programs.
• Initiate enforcement procedures on workplaces contravening organization and government health and safety standards and regulations
• Communicate, engage and influence decision-makers and workers to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain health and safety reports, documentation, and compliance records.
• Conduct COR™ 2020 Internal Audits and support preparation for External COR™ Audits.
• Assist with the implementation and management of the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program.
• Collaborate with external safety organizations including WSIB and IHSA.
• Monitor safety performance indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Terms of Employment:
• Salary: $39 per hour; 30 hours per week
• Permanent, Full-Time
• Start date: immediately

Skills Requirements:
• Language: English
• Education: High School or equivalent experience; A bachelor's degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety an asset
• Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience
