Duties
Provide real-time interpretation for medical consultations, examinations, and procedures across multiple languages.
Accurately translate medical terminology, patient histories, and treatment instructions while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Review and interpret medical records, documentation, and social work reports to support clinical decision-making.
Support documentation review and ensure all interpreted interactions are properly documented in patient records.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify complex medical information and ensure understanding for patients with limited English proficiency or hearing impairments.
Maintain professional standards of interpretation ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
Experience
Multilingual proficiency with demonstrated interpretation skills in English - Spanish language.
Prior experience working in healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics is strongly desired.
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements
Experience translating or interpreting medical records, social work documentation or related materials.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
