A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting one to two years is required. The medium of communication for this role is English. Applicants must have at least two to three years of relevant experience. Work is to be performed either at the company’s physical location or at an assigned client site; remote work is not available. We are seeking an experienced Office Equipment Service Technician for a full-time, on-site position. The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of a broad range of office electronics, with a primary focus on networked printers, multifunction devices, UPS units, and other office-related equipment. The role requires both independent and team work, on-site support at client locations and in-house service, and a commitment to supporting green technology initiatives. Job Requirements:
- Independently and as part of a team, conduct advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of office electronics, with a primary focus on networked printers, multifunction devices, UPS units, and other office-related equipment, both on-site and in-house.
- Interpret complex technical schematics and service documentation to identify, resolve, and document hardware and software malfunctions, ensuring all work is performed at the physical location.
- Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power, or specially designed tools; calibrate and test products for optimal performance and compliance with technical standards.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support green technology initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive service reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation for each assignment, collaborating with IT and facilities teams as needed.
- Provide expert-level technical support and training to end-users and supervise other electronic equipment service technicians as required.
- Manage tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting equipment up to 23 kg (50 lbs), while working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, firmware updates, and sustainability practices relevant to office electronics.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in electronics, computer engineering technology, or a closely related technical discipline (advanced technical education or engineering background is considered a strong asset)
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing advanced office electronics, including printers, copiers, UPS units, and office-related equipment
- Proficiency with electronic testing instruments and specialized repair tools
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and Windows environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience supervising or mentoring other technicians is an asset
- Experience supporting green technology initiatives or working in environmentally focused roles is an asset
- Availability for full-time, on-site work during standard business hours with flexibility for urgent service needs
- Only Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with valid authorization to work in Canada and available to start immediately should apply.
- Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license, be willing to travel for work purposes. Having access to a personal vehicle will be an asset.
