Tasks: Mix and prepare soils; Water and tend to plants; Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants;
Monitor plants for healthy growth and potential weed, insect, disease, and fertilizer problems; Tie and secure plants; Report signs of insect or disease damage; Spray trees, shrubs, flowers and plants to prevent disease and pests; Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides; Weeding; Apply fertilizers; Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts; Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality; Dig, cut and transplant trees, shrubs, flowers and plants and prepare them for sale; Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs; May operate tractors and other machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest and spray fields and plants; Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas; Write daily basic progress reports; Clean working area
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs), more than 45 kg (100 lbs)
Work Site Environment: Hot, Outdoors
