Title of Position: Community Antenna Television (CATV) service installation technician

Terms of employment: Full-time, year-round work
Job Duties:
• Determine the work assignments by communicating with the client and the company • Read and accurately interpret system /network design map, interpret documents such as safety
rules, follow established procedures and guidelines to install, test, maintain or repair CATV
service /internet signal.
• Install, relocate and replace coax, splitters, terminals, digital boxes, cable outlets, modems or
routers and other equipment etc.
• Install CATV services and products in accordance with established Installation Standards.
• Inspect and test signals and associated equipment.
• Test and locate faults and replace or replace the faulty equipment or cables etc., troubleshoot by
using computerized system when required. • Understand Fiber Optic Network Design and assist OSP with troubleshooting if required.
• Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
• Complete and maintain test and service report.
Wages: $34.5/hr. for 30-35hrs./week
Location of work: Brampton, ON and/or Kitchener, ON

Qualifications:
• Completion of high school is required.
• Completion of college OR a minimum of at least 1-2 years of relevant experience is required.
• Clear understanding of cable operations & DOCSIS
• Physically able to climb and carry ladder etc.
• Trainable to stay current with technological advances and new products.
• Maintain positive working attitude and communicate effectively
• Maintains a valid driver’s license
• May need to work on weekends including overnight maintenance, be On-Call and perform
Standby status when scheduled
• Utilize all network tools, software and resources assigned
• Typing; Use of Windows and Office products, such as Word, Email, and Spreadsheets
